The Central University of Tamil Nadu JRF Recruitment 2025 notification has been officially announced for the position of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) at the Department of Microbiology, School of Life Sciences. Project Title

Investigating the molecular mechanisms of polyphosphate storage in microalgae; an approach towards production of sustainable phosphate biofertilizers

This project will provide valuable insights into biofertilizer technology. Furthermore, it offers researchers a chance to work on a relevant, sustainability-focused challenge.

Essential Qualification

Applicants must hold an M.Sc., M.Tech., Integrated M.Sc., or BS-MS degree in Biological Sciences, Life Sciences, Microbiology, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or Botany (or an equivalent discipline).
In addition, candidates should have secured 60% marks for General/OBC and 55% marks for SC/ST/PH categories.

Furthermore, applicants must have qualified CSIR/UGC-NET/GATE or an equivalent national-level examination such as DBT or ICMR.

Desirable Skills

Preference will be given to candidates with experience in one or more of the following areas:

  • Algal or plant biology
  • Metabolite analysis
  • Tissue culture
  • Molecular biology

These technical skills will be highly beneficial for successful project execution. Additionally, candidates with strong analytical abilities and independent research experience will have an advantage.

Tenure of Position

The position is purely temporary. Initially, the appointment will be for one year; however, it may be extended for up to two additional years based on performance and project requirements.

Monthly Fellowship

Selected candidates will receive a monthly fellowship of ₹37,000 + HRA, as per university norms. Moreover, performance-based continuation will be considered during annual evaluation.
