Eligibility Criteria
Candidates must satisfy the following academic and age requirements as of 01 January 2026.
Age Limit
- Minimum Age: 18 Years
- Maximum Age (DSP): 27 Years
- Maximum Age (Other Posts): 42 Years
- Age Relaxation: SC/BC and ESM candidates of Haryana receive a 5-year relaxation. Additionally, widowed or legally separated women are eligible for age relaxation as per state policy.
Educational Qualification
- Mandatory: Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Arts, Science, Commerce, or equivalent from a recognized university.
- Final Year Students: Notably, final-year students can apply provided their result is declared on or before the application deadline (26 February 2026).
Selection Process
The HPSC HCS selection process follows a standardized three-stage structure:
- Preliminary Examination: Objective screening test consisting of GS and CSAT papers.
- Main Written Examination: Descriptive examination comprising 6 compulsory papers.

Yes, candidates from all states can apply; however, they will be treated as General category candidates regardless of their category in their home state.
Q2: Is the CSAT paper counted for the Prelims merit?
No, the CSAT paper is strictly qualifying in nature. Consequently, only the marks from the General Studies (Paper I) are used to shortlist candidates for the Mains.
Q3: Is there a limit on the number of attempts for Haryana HPSC HCS Recruitment 2026?
