Job Overview

Amazon is hiring for the Amazon SDE I Job in Chennai in its Payments Tech Team. This role is designed for 2021–2024 passouts who are passionate about solving complex engineering problems, building distributed systems, and working on large-scale payment infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

As an SDE I at Amazon, you will:

• Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain new software solutions
• Develop distributed systems and high-throughput services
• Work with cross-functional teams such as product, design, and operations
• Debug, troubleshoot, and improve existing systems
• Ensure performance, scalability, and security of the applications
• Practice engineering best practices (code reviews, unit tests, CI/CD pipelines)

Basic Qualifications (Must Have)

• 1+ years of professional software development experience (non-internship)
• 1+ years experience with design/architecture of new and existing systems
• Capability in at least one programming language
• Knowledge of design patterns, reliability, scalability
• Experience in software development lifecycle, source control, and testing

Preferred Skills (Plus Points)

• Experience with full stack development, cloud systems, or payments architecture
• Knowledge of distributed systems, microservices, data engineering
• Comfort working with high-traffic, high-scale applications
• Excellent problem-solving skills and system-level thinking
