Eligibility Criteria

Age Limit

For the Engineering stream, no minimum or maximum age limit is prescribed. For the Pharmacy stream, candidates must be at least 17 years of age as on 31 December 2026. Similarly, for the Medical stream, the minimum age is 17 years as on 31 December 2026. Furthermore, for admission to Bihar Agriculture University, Sabour (Bhagalpur), the minimum age is 16 years as on 31 August 2026.

Qualification

Candidates must have passed the 10+2 or equivalent examination with a minimum of 50% marks in the relevant subject group – PCM (Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics) or PCB (Physics, Chemistry & Biology) for most streams; additionally, CBA, PCA, MBA, or MCA subject groups are accepted for Bihar Agriculture University’s agriculture-stream programmes. Specifically, B.Sc. Poultry Production seats at Bihar Animal Sciences University, Patna are filled from the PCB group merit list.

Entrance Exam

Candidates must appear in the BCECE-2026 examination, conducted by the BCECE Board. The proposed exam schedule covers 30 May 2026 (four shifts) and 31 May 2026 (one shift). Notably, candidates seeking B.Tech (Dairy Technology) and B.Tech (Food Technology) admission must additionally be qualified in JEE (Main) 2026 under the PCM Group for online counselling eligibility.

Furthermore, if a bank debit occurs but the fee is not credited to the board’s account, candidates must retry payment before the deadline; otherwise, the application will remain incomplete.

Selection Process

  1. Submit the online application form via the official portal at bceceboard.bihar.gov.in.
  2. Appear in the BCECE-2026 entrance examination on 30–31 May 2026 in the relevant subject group(s).
  3. Await result declaration and the release of stream-wise merit lists and cut-off scores.
  4. Check shortlist status based on entrance performance, subject group, and category-wise seat availability.
  5. Attend Document Verification at the designated counselling centre with all original certificates.
  6. Complete Seat Allotment / Counselling, pay the applicable institutional fee, and enrol at the allotted institution.

  2. Find and click the “Online Portal of BCECE-2026” link on the homepage.
  3. Click “New Registration” and register using a valid personal email ID and mobile number; verify both via separate OTP/verification codes sent to each.
  4. Log in with your Registration Number and Password, then select your Course Group and fill in Personal, Contact, and Educational Information across all multi-step form sections.
  5. Upload a high-contrast colour passport-size photograph, a Hindi/English signature, and a live photograph as instructed on the application portal.
  6. Pay the applicable Examination/Counselling Fee using Net Banking, Debit Card, Credit Card, or UPI before 06 May 2026 at 11:59 PM.
  7. Submit the final form and download the Confirmation Page and Fee Receipt for use during counselling.
